The Vampire Academy Series

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a different read for me but I liked it a lot. The characters jumped off the page. I love Rose and her sassiness. I love lead girl characters that are bad a$$ and girly at the same time there was a lot of high school drama but thats what you expect from teenagers even if they are vampires. I love the new take on the vampires too or as they call them Moroi which are the vampire royalty, and the dhampir that are the half vampire-guardians of the mori, and then the strigoi, the vampires that have basically gone rogue, took me a while to finally get what each were since it was new to me but I got it. I also liked the bonding thing that was going on with Rose and Lissa that was very interesting. The love interest between Lissa and Christian and Rose and Dimitri was pretty juicy. I can't wait to see whats gonna happen with them, Although Dimitril was yummy, he was older than Rose by 7 years and I hope they at least wait till she's legal for there attraction to move forward.

This book held my attention from the first page. With each page I turned I wanted to know what was going to happen next. This was one of those stay up all night reads. Overall this was a thrilling read with mysterious things going on, back stabbing, brake-ups and make-ups, forbidden love and a shocking ending that had a twist. Can't wait to read the next one.

P.S Rose's "doll face" "little girl" remarks were hilarious :)

Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) by Richelle Mead

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This Second book was just as good as the first if not better. But thats what you want in a series books right? You want them to get better and better. This book had me on a roller coaster ride with Rose's emotions, it was like watching a good drama movie, with loads of confrontations with Rose and her mom and Dimitri. I was really glad we finally got to meet the woman who gave birth to this firecracker.

I loved so much in this book it's hard to type it all down. It kept me up till 3 in the morn. reading I could not put it down then I was crying YES! actually crying the ending was powerful and full of suspense and so sad.

The only down side to this book was in the beginning I felt like I was re- reading the first book all over again with all the info of the first book. I felt the prologue was enough to catch us up on everything.

Besides all that I loved it and can't wait to read more especially to find out more about Lissa's power's and the new guy in town Adrian... :)

Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3)Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok one of my favorite lines from this book.
Page 388 "I called a warning to Christian, just as a Strigoi grabbed him. But Christian was fast. Flames wreathed the Strigoi's head. He screamed and released Christian, trying frantically to put the flames out. The Strigoi never saw me coming with the stake. The whole thing took under a minute. Christian and I exchanged looks. Yeah. We were Badasses."..... Rose.

This was amazing I had so much fun reading this. Richelle Mead is an entertaining author. Once again I went on a roller coaster ride of emotions. These characters literally come off the page and into your life. I truly felt everything each character was going through. There is enough of everything in this book. True love, jealousy, anger, suspense, mystery, and BIG TIME surprises.

Again there is soo much in this book that was good I can't put it all down, but I will say that I liked how they are all growing up. Lissa and Christian getting some backbone, and fighting for what the believe. Rose getting her head together of what she wants and whats important. And Dimitri. Can I say yum yum, and wow, and omg! I cried again. Yep people it made me cry again.

Well If you've read the first two and enjoyed them your gonna love this one. They get better and better. I'd love to give you details about what this book is about but that is what the description on the back of the books are for and I don't think you'd want to read a 5 page review. he he. :) I just hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Can I just say that this would be a good replacement for the old series Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
I can see this as a tv series. It's been a while since we had a good kicking a$$ girl on tv lately. would you agree?

P.S. The fighting scenes were awesome!

I will say this again that each book gets better and better. The only problem I had was that it took me 282 pages to get there I guess we needed a build up, but I don’t think it needed to be that long of one. Especially with 2 more books to the series to go.

Things that kept me going up to that point of the book was we got to keep up with lissa and see how she was doing with Rose gone. We also got to keep up with Adrian and Christian too.

So when I finally got to page 282 and found out about our good boy gone bad I was devastated I felt like Rose did (It’s still Dimitri, but Isn’t) I was starting to think that she should have stayed at school and gotten closer to Adrian. He’s starting to look like a saint compared with Dimitri. Man has Dimitri gone cold I’m not sure what his feelings are for her anymore.

Things got a little scary for Lissa. With Rose being gone we get introduced to a new girl named Avery. This Avery girl was a trip to me. She was also a bad influence. And we find out that she’s a spirit user too.

The suspense towards the end in is amazing. I felt like I was watching a movie. Wow Rose goes through so much. I’m so tired for her, that girl needs some serious rest. By the time she got rescued and went back to school, I was so worn out. I need a break from this series going to read something in between. That aught to tell this is good it got me all emotionally stressed out. LOL!

Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5)Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This 5th addition to this series left me with a big WOW! I love how this author draws you into her stories. There was so much happing this time around. We had a lot of action and drama that makes reading so much fun.

Lissa finally stepped up to the plate and became the stronger and more mature person, How she saved Dimitri was so beautiful. That was a crying moment for me. I liked how she told Rose off when she was being an idiot over Dimitri, that was a good scene too. I even liked the way her Jealousy with Christian was playing out. It was so sweet and innocent I'm glad they worked it all out though.

As for Rose man she is still taking me on Roller-coaster rides. I thought with the last books she was getting more and more mature, Don't get me wrong she is still had her sarcastic attitude and spare of the moment thinking that I love, But it was a bit over the top. Then Again I understand the love of her life is back and rejecting her, whatz a girl supposed to do, sit and act like everything's ok? Not! She instead goes on the rebound and almost sleeps with Adrian. I was so happy that they didn't. That would have made thing worse for them seeing as she is so clearly still in love with Dimitri.

Adrian I just can't see Rose being with him IMO. He just doesn't seem to have grown up to me. He's just a big kid. I think he should consider doing something good and permanent with his powers or go on a spirit finding journey to learn more about them. He seems like a character thrown in for just some distraction. I could personally do without him.

Dimitri though I am happy that he is back and not a stalking killing machine I'm so sad that he doesn't want Rose anymore. What happen to the "we are meant to be together" line. But I understand what he's going through. He became someone he was against becoming.

All in all this was an exciting read full of surprises I did not expect. I'm still in shock of what happen to Rose and the Queen. I can hardly wait for the next and I hope final installment of this series I'm not sure I can take any more of this roller coaster ride I've been on for the last two months... lol

Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6)Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

You have this great big bang in the end of book 5 right? Rose gets accused of killing the Queen then Dimitri comes back from being a killer It was a wow kind of book.

Ok so here's what I thought about book6 first half..... Boring I mean don't don't get me wrong I enjoyed my fav. girl Rose with her smart ass mouth comments and the trip to the wilderness was entertaing a lot but of the book just seemed like fill-ins to. I found myself skimming a lot. I got bored I even fell asleep on it at one point. I missed the fun banter between Rose and Dimitri, I didn't feel the connection anymore and when she switched into Lissa mine I couldn't wait for het to get out I was that bored with it....

Second half.... Finally the book began for me the action was amazing the connection between Dimitri and Rose was back on track I loved it the twist and turns of who actually killed the queen was fun very surprising I sooo didn't see that coming. But in the end I was sad I think she could have ended things with Adrian better that was so messed up what happen to him. and then Sydney there is definitely room for more to this series with the other characters No more Rose and Lissa though I just about had enough of them and their rollercoster ride. I mean honestly she could have just added from page 400 to the rest of book 5 and ended then....

Heres my couple Happy reading

Nobody's Hero 4★ Rating

Melanie Harvey writes a wonderful story about a white rapper WM and a black BW author who fall in love. I have to say this was a wonderful surprise and a interesting way to write about an interracial couple in a different way. One you don't hear about that often if not at all.

I have to admit at first I was kinda wondering how all this was going to play out. But as I read, and kept on reading. I got all happy and had that fuzzy feeling inside. The way Ricky's mind works was amazing to me and Carolyn was a interesting person herself she was so sweet. There was so much tension between the two you could really feel it. The love is strong between the two you really root for them to work it all out.

This is a short read but you don't even notice because its almost like your standing in the room watching everything thats going on. The dialogue got to me a little bit, because I sometimes couldn't tell who was talking, but then again it reminded me of watching Iron man 2. The dialogue was fast pace you had to pay attention and keep up..lol

Any-ho This was a lovely read I'm glad I found it. I love how they take a chance on each other and respect one another Ricky's lyrics had me tuning in to Eminem even though author used her own stuff, I couldn't help but pull out some of Eminem's song to get the feel of Ricky as a white rapper. It's so awesome.

I recommend this to all my goodreads friends who love a different take on an interracial couple and a good reading challenge with lots of tension. Warning Ricky is a rapper so you know the language can get a bit rough. but you can get passed it cause it was well written and fit with the character.
